When is the next Comrades Marathon in Durban 2020? Comrades Marathon will be run on Sunday, 14 June 2020, starting at the Pietermaritzburg City Hall at 5h30 and finishing 12 hours later at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban. This will be the 95th running of the race and the 47th Down Run.
There has been an unprecedented number of enquiries regarding the opening of entries for next year’s Marathon. The Comrades Marathon Association (CMA) has therefore advised all aspirant #Comrades2020 entrants to please await the official media launch on 2 October 2019 when all relevant details of the race will be revealed.
Entries for the 2020 Comrades Marathon are limited to a maximum of 25 000 and there will be no extensions. All current and potential runners that wish to run the 2020 Comrades Marathon are urged to take careful note of the entry process and the cutoff date. All runners are urged to enter early to avoid disappointment.
“We ask that runners bear with us until Wednesday, 2 October when we will announce our race plans, confirm the exact date upon which entries will open towards the end of October for the 2020 Marathon and all other pertinent information.
There are recovery weeks built into the programme every 4 weeks, do not be tempted to do more as this will only compromise you later in the programme, leading to injury, illness and under performance in goal races.
Training days are interchangeable, if your club has Time Trials (TT) on a Tuesday or Wednesday you can swap Thursday with one of these days.
